National Biometric Archive ~ Need of the hour

It is high time, we should consider setting up a National Biometric Archive. The DNA profiles of every newborn should be done and results should be collected and systematically archived. Every citizen who turns 18 should get his/her fingerprint, iris, face and other such biometric data recorded. This data should be added to their respective DNA profile. This data should be added to the election identity cards, passports etc. equipped with electronic chips, which are to be issued in smart card form. Implementing this system can go a long way in early and effective detection of crimes; and in implementing effective surveillance.

Two Indian law portals worth special mention

Just found these two websites which I feel deserve special mention. They can be of immense help to any aspirant of Indian law...

1. http://www.indiankanoon.com
This website came to me as a pleasant surprise. It is a search engine for Indian law... Enter the search term in the space provided and click the search button & Bingo!.... you get a whole bunch of resources including judgments, bare Acts et al. Kudos to those who are running this website!

2. http://www.cili.in (Central India Law Quarterly)
As the Editor in Chief of the website claims, it is truly the "first open access law journal of India". It promises free and open online access of the past, current and future issues of the journal. This website is loaded with articles submitted to it. I have to say that the quality of the articles are good enough to gain in depth insight into the topics discussed. Articles are available mostly in PDF format while some are in HTML format. Again, my kudos and wishes to all those who run this website.
